Collaborations
In July, two of my textile sculptures were included in a collaborative performance at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio, as part of the 2007 Cleveland Ingenuity Festival. Produced by choreographer Kora Radella's Double Edge Dance Company, we presented "Fault Lines," a multimedia performance which included choreography by Kora Radella and Julie Brodie, original music by Ross Feller, and video art by Claudia Esslinger and Marcella Hackbardt. An earlier version of this performance was mounted at the Cleveland Public Theatre in February 2007, which critic Linda Eisenstein in coolcleveland.com described as "most memorable in how their brainy-strange core artists put together new music, dance, video, and fiber art." Set design and fabric design for costumes for trio entitled "Crevasse" (2006) with dancer/choreographer Kora Radella. Approximately 30' wide, various heighths. Materials: nylon tulle and silk organza.
Processes: shibori shape-resist and sewing.
Premiere: Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio, December 7, 2006.
Music: Ross Feller; Dancers, Annie Lee Haden Guest, Emily Martyn, Meggie Morrow; Costume Design, Andrew Reinert; Lighting Design, David T. Flaherty.
Suspensions. ad hoc exhibit with ceramic artist Sin-Young Park, Lake-Olsen Textile and Painting Studios Gallery, Kent, Ohio, Spring 2007.
